Please follow these instructions to ensure correct and speedy answering of questions

  You can answer the Questions in any order.
Marks for each Question reflect it's difficulty and indicates in minutes how long should be spent answering it.
Answer each Question carefully, as submitting a wrong multichoice answer will mark the whole Question as wrong.
Many Questions have more than one right answer so selecting all of these gets you the maximum score.
How to type an answer
  1. Use correct Capitalisation of Elements and Formulae i.e. Cl2 Cl- and Fe2O3, not cl cl- or fe203
  2. Write Formulae as CO2   (NH4)2SO4    Al3+, i.e. no need for sub/superscripting
  3. Write reactions as CuSO4 + Fe -> FeSO4 + Cu (ensuring spaces between compounds/elements)
  4. Assume r.t.p. (15 degrees Centigrade and 1 bar pressure) unless advised in Question
  5. Do NOT add the state after a Formulae i.e. no need for Fe(s) or CuSO4(aq) unless requested
  6. Include the units of measurement as used in each Question, when requested
  7. Write complete English sentences when answering the detailed text questions for maximum marks
  8. You should not add punctuation to your answers but DO start each 'sentence' on a new line
After each attempt to a multiple or multi-choice question, the maximum mark reduces by 30%.
