Tell us of your system if you do have a problem not shown

Ensure your browser is up to date (almost all are free to download)

On older computers, close programs you are not using, to increase memory availability

Computers older than 6 years may experience delays as images and animations change

Javascript is NOT the same as Java (scripts of applets)
Browser problem
Check you are using
Internet Explorer 5.0 5.5 6.0 or later
Netscape 7 or 8 (far better)
AOL
But Mozilla and Opera users will have to use one of the above
Upgrade your browser to a current version, usually for free

Javascript problems
Have you turned OFF Javascript in your browser
(The default setting for browsers is Javascript to be ON, you would have had to actively turn Javascript OFF, which is very unusual)

Browser crashes / freezes
Insufecient RAM (memory) on an older system
Please close down other programs to release memory

Internet Security software
may cause problems depending on the settings YOU chose
Norton Internet Security, Sophos etc. allow you to customise your settings, have you overdone it?
WebPage not available
Ensure you have typed in the correct network path
All MulteLearn webpages end in .htm (not .html)
Are you permitted to access the MulteLearn Exercises at this time?
You should open the chem.htm or chemhome.htm webpages only
You should navigate to all the other webpages from chem.htm or chemhome.htm
You should not try to open an Exercise file directly

Intranet / Internet
Does your school allow access to the school intranet via the Internet?

Sharing a CD-ROM drive
You cannot usually share a CD-ROM drive, unless your network is set up to do so.

Saving Files
Ask your Network Administrator / Teacher where your 'test results' should be saved

No printer window appears
See your Network Administrator
Printing may be disabled on your Network

No printer shown in the printer window
Do you have a printer installed?
Do you have permission to use a network printer?

No output from my printer
Switched on?
Selected the correct printer (e.g. not selected 'Microsoft Document Image Writer' or similar)?
Selected an 'out of range' page (i.e. page 8 of only 7 pages!)

Printer jammed / unreadable
Press Print Test again
You can select All or just a single page
Suggest select Portrait layout, not Landscape
We apologise!
We are not perfect, and although we take great care to check and proof-read, some errors may go unnoticed

Please send us an email of the Exercise Name and Question Number and much details as you can

As a Thank-You, we will send you a FREE Student Version of the Subject (with corrected text), if you supply your School Name and Address
As a text file
Text files are very small, and readable by almost any computer system
All end with .txt
May be attached to an email to the Teacher
May be pasted into the body of an email, for greater security, depending on your anti-virus policy

As a spreadsheet
It may be more convenient to save as an .xls file which is openable with Excel(tm)
You will find cells A1 to E** contain the core of result data, (** depends on the number of questions)

As a print out
Students can print out their responses for examination by the Teacher
who can then give extra advice as required.
